HSBC BRIC Freestyle Fund available

By dollarDEX.com

BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) are on track to becoming economic superpowers, perhaps much faster than investors currently anticipate. HSBC believe, that as long as the BRIC economies are channelled productively, they could generate 45% of global growth by 2025. Already, real GDP growth of BRIC in 2003 and 2004 was more than double that of the rest of the world.

HSBC BRIC Freestyle seeks long-term returns from capital growth and income through a concentrated portfolio of equity investments in the BRIC countries - Brazil, Russia, India and China (including Hong Kong SAR).

Freestyle investing* - the aim of the fund is to generate total return without reference to market index weightings and by investing across a range of market capitalisations.

Freestyle investing has, at its core, a common set of principles:

  • Aims for strong returns over the medium term - by seeking out companies with excellent cash flow generation potential, at attractive valuations.
  • A concentrated portfolio of stocks without reference to benchmarks - by investing in companies, not in market returns, based on conviction and merit.
  • A robust analytical framework - which drives decision-making, combining fundamental research with quantitative and qualitative assessments.

* Investors should read the Singapore prospectus for details before investing in the Fund. While a freestyle investment strategy offers the potential for higher returns, it also involves potentially higher risks than traditional funds which are guided by benchmark, market capitalisation and sector constraints. Like any investment, there can be no assurance that the Fund would achieve its investment objective.
