Motor racing-Hyundai plans Formula One team for 2010 - report

FRANKFURT, Oct 22 (Reuters) - South Korea's top carmaker Hyundai Motor Co. is in talks to enter its own team for the country's first Formula One grand prix in 2010, Germany's Automobilwoche weekly said in its online edition on Sunday.

"Talks with Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone are in progress," the magazine quoted a Hyundai manager as saying.

Automobilewoche also quoted Hyundai's Europe manager Gerry Dorizas as saying: "I know only that we will start a new motorsport engagement in the rally field in 2008."

Ecclestone said earlier this month he would help to bring up Korean Formula One drivers in the hope of having a Korean team take part in the race one day.
