WIOF Central Asian Opportunities Fund is now available. dollarDEX's view is that this is a very high potential and unique fund but also high risk. Initial subscriptions at US$3.00 per share accepted until 11 June 2007. First NAV to be issued 12 June 2007. Find out how you could tap into this opportunity by accessing our Accredited investments section (sign in and declaration required). Central Asia could be a region with the next big wave of opportunities. This area includes Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The government of Kazakhstan plans to double its Gross domestic product (GDP) by 2008 and triple by 2015 compared to 2000. The GDP growth was stable in the last five years, and was higher than 9%. GDP growth in 2005 was 9.2%, and 9.4% in 2004. Energy is the leading economic sector. Because of its strong macroeconomic performance and financial health, in 2000 Kazakhstan became the first former Soviet republic to repay all of its debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), 7 years ahead of schedule.
