Vietnam's Footwear Industry Shifting Focus Away From Eu Market

HANOI, July 5 Asia Pulse - Vietnamese footwear exporters are shifting their attention to the US and other markets such as Japan, Taiwan and eastern Europe as the EU's anti-dumping tariff is hurting their exports.

According to the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association,, exports to the EU accounted for only half of the footwear industry's export value in the past six months, while exports to the northern American market rose by about 20 per cent over the same period last year.

The industry earned US$1.93 billion from exports in the first half of this year.
