Volatile markets may have some investors running for cover in the short-term but those with a longer-term perspective may be wise to look to the attractions of European equities. There can be no escaping the fact that the short-term prospects for European equities look set to take their lead from the US, as the ramifications of the sub-prime mortgage market issues are felt worldwide. However, robust economic growth, a strong currency and an optimistic consumer help underpin a stockmarket that is still attractively-valued relative to other asset classes.
