US STOCKS-Nasdaq rises 1 percent late
NEW YORK, May 6 (Reuters) - The Nasdaq briefly rose 1
percent in late trading on Tuesday, with technology shares
gaining on speculation that Microsoft Corp and Yahoo
Inc will resume takeover talks.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 57.56
points, or 0.44 percent, at 13,027.10. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was up 11.53 points, or 0.82 percent, at
1,419.02. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 23.21
points, or 0.94 percent, at 2,487.33.
