Taiwan Young Designers' Exhibition to Open May 15TAIPEI, May 7 Asia Pulse - The 2008 Young Designers' Exhibition (YODEX), which will take place at the Taipei World Trade Center May 15-18, will showcase the latest creations by students from home and abroad, the organizer said Tuesday. The show will be the largest in terms of scale since its establishment in 1982, said Tony Chang, chief executive officer of the Taiwan Design Center, adding that he expects that the exhibition will attract some 100,000 visitors this year.
The 27th YODEX will draw the participation of 48 universities and institutes of technology around Taiwan, as well as 20 design schools from Australia, Italy, New Zealand, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States, Chang said. Taiwan Design Center, the organizer of the world's largest student design show, will present a series of events that will include the YODEX Digital Media Theater, 2008 Young Designers' Competition and 2008 YODEX Exhibition Space Award, according to Chang.
