Vietnam Hosts Meeting on International Auditing Standards

HANOI, May 13 Asia Pulse - More than 50 delegates from both Vietnam's and international members of Nexia International gathered in Hanoi for a three-day conference from May 10 to share views on how to bring auditing practices up to international standards.

The meeting was designed to focus on the effective networking, quality control, communication and update international and regional members on the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).

Nexia International Chairman Gareth Pearce shared his view that this should be a very good chance for the Vietnam member firm, Nexia ACPC, to market itself as well as to introduce Vietnam to potential investors around the world.

According to the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA), the country is now home to 146 auditing firms. Of these, 22 are members of international auditing firms.

Vietnamese firms could stand to benefit from international auditing firms by working with international clients and multi-national groups to help them run businesses and invest in Vietnam .

The partnership could also help build trademarks, raise revenue and improve staff professionalism.
