Arab Team Set to Visit Oman to Set up Agriculture Fund

MUSCAT, May 15 Asia Pulse - A delegation of the Arab Authority for Investment and Agricultural Development will visit Oman in the next few days to prepare the required study to establish an agricultural fund, an initiative adopted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in cooperation with the respective departments and private companies.

The delegation will be led by Dr. Nofal Hamid Rashid, Assistant Chairman of the Authority for Technical Affairs.

Khalil bin Abdullah al Khunji, OCCI Chairman said that the visit comes within the framework of the OCCI's steady aim to establish an agricultural fund.

The OCCI earlier announced that it had adopted the establishment of the fund in association with authorities with experience in this field, including the Arab Authority for Investment and Agricultural Development.

In a statement to the Oman News Agency (ONA), al Khunji said that experts would visit OCCI and review the aims behind the establishment of the fund to benefit from the authority's experience in this field.

Al Khunji highlighted the OCCI's keenness to expedite finalizing the details of the fund so that its establishment can be initiated in the next few days.

The fund will be dedicated to investment in food security inside and outside the Sultanate.
