JAKARTA, Nov 6 Asia Pulse - Mandala Airlines has said it will not postpone a plan to procure 30 units of Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft at a price of US$1.8 billion, despite the global financial crisis.

Chief Executive of Mandala Warwick Brady said delivery of the aircraft will begin 2010 to serve domestic and international flights.

Brady said the 30 units are part of a purchasing package of 300 units of Airbus aircraft by Indigo Partners to strengthen its fleets serving flights in Europe, the United States and Asia.

Indigo Partners is a 49% shareholder of Mandala, with Cardig International Aviation as a 51% owner.

Brady, quoted in the newspaper Bisnis Indonesia, said that by the end of this year, Mandala would no longer use Boeing 737-400 aircraft.
