Indonesian inflation up 2.57% in OctoberIndonesia's Consumer Price Index rose 2.57 percent in October compared to the same month last year, indicating lower-than-expected annual inflation, the statistics agency said on Monday.
On-month inflation slowed to 0.19 percent from 1.05 percent in September as transport prices eased following the end of a religious holiday, the agency said.
The lower on-year inflation bodes well for the government's full-year inflation target, agency chairmen Rusman Heriawan told reporters.
"I think inflation for the full year will be below (the government's targeted level of) four percent," he said.
Consumer prices rose 11.07 percent in 2008.
